If our life experiences are different, we need a different kind of healing. We need healing that feels safe and doesn't require silencing or surpressing a part of ourselves.
We need space to rest, recharge, cry, be angry, laugh, and emote all the emotions our ancestors held. We need time to process the wounds and weights we carry.
Art-making provides an opportunity for self-expression and emotional release. The creative process gets us into a flow and activates our brain. Art transforms our thoughts and feelings into something tangible we can explore with all of our senses.
As we move through creative process and create art, we begin to view our challenges from a new perspective. Through art, we can expand how we view ourselves, how we view the world, and how the world views us. We can heal deep wounds, create new ways of being, and creatively change the narrative.
